GA Youth Alive

GAYA is Gospel Assembly Youth Alive!

To all youths of Gospel Assembly of God church in past, present and future. We are the youths with a heart on fire for God to fulfill God's great plan for us.

A flame is categorized as something hot. A fire spreads if unchecked. Therefore the youths of GA have to be like that. The fire has to start with us. Only then can we spread this fire like how wildfire spreads in a burning forest and thus bring people to God.

We believe that through constant prayer we can achieve all things cause we know that God has a great plan for GAYA. Therefore I call upon everybody to give your support by not only joining this group but also to pray with us no matter where you are.

To all youths who are "berGAYA" this is for you. If God is for us, no one can stand against us.

"For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message He has given us to tell others." 2 Corinthians 5:9

**YOUTH MINISTRY - The 'GAYA'**
contributed by Janice Liew

In the parable of the sower and soils (Matthew 13), Jesus compares the seeds that fell on good soil versus the seeds that fell on rocky or shallow soil.

If we don’t faithfully prepare the soils of youth ministry, we should not expect to reap a harvest. So how do we prepare the church for effective youth ministry?

How do I build a program that will work for this particular ministry?” Nehemiah had a similar challenge when he went to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall. God had placed a vision on his heart but it was important for him to internalize the situation first. The following are snippets from Neh 2:13-18 (NIV),

I went out…examining the walls of Jerusalem, which had been broken down, and its gates, which had been destroyed by fire…as yet I had said nothing to…any others who would be doing the work.

Then I said to them, “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace."

They replied, "Let us start rebuilding." So they began this good work.

Nehemiah spent an appropriate amount of time understanding the condition of the wall before revealing his plan. There are certain universal truths about teenagers. There are also specific needs to consider in each individual ministry. The first step in building a dynamic youth ministry is to identify both the common and unique needs. Shalom.
